Projects
Due to the multi-faceted aspects of our work to end violence
against women, NDCAWS administers many projects to develop
a well-rounded effort. The diversity of these projects allows
us to target prevention, education, and intervention toward
all sectors of our communities.
We have awareness projects, such as the Clothesline Project,
which assist in starting a discussion or getting people
to think more intensely about the issue of violence against
women. We celebrate Domestic Violence Unity Month in October,
Love Without Fear Week in February, and Sexual Assault Awareness
Month in April.
We coordinate projects that focus the work toward specific
populations or age groups, such as the Campus Violence Project,
the Rural Outreach Project, and the Native American Forum.
We oversee projects that ensure quality services to victims
of violence, especially through the Court Advocate Certification
Project, the Supervised Visitation Project, and the Batterers’
Treatment Forum.
We also recognize the importance of financial independence
for victims of violence, so they may more successfully escape
abusive situations. For that reason, we manage projects
focused on offering opportunities for this independence
with the Scholarship Project and the TANF Project.
