Destruction of Personal Property
- Tearing up pictures.
- Ruining partner’s clothing or other
belongings.
- Damaging partner’s car.
- Destroying sentimental items.
Threats/Intimidation
- Using looks, actions to intimidate
partner.
- Smashing or throwing objects.
- Threatening to leave partner in a
dangerous place.
- Threatening physical harm.
Sexual Abuse
- Touching partner in an unwanted or
uncomfortable fashion.
- Continuing sexual advances after being
told "NO".
- Forcing sex on a partner.
- Treating partner like a sex object.
- "Playfully" using force during sex.
Abuse of "Male Privilege"
- Making all the decisions.
- Going out with the "guys," but not
allowing her the same freedom.
- Assuming certain rights/privileges
simply because he is male.
Jealousy and Isolation
- Refusing to let partner join activities.
- Using jealousy as a sign of love instead
of insecurity.
- Repeatedly accusing partner of cheating.
- Controlling to whom partner sees and
speaks.
- Controlling what partner does.
Physical Abuse
- Attempting to hurt or scare partner
physically:

– Biting.
– Pulling Hair.
– Grabbing.
– Pushing.
– Tripping.
– Kicking.
