6. Implement
legislative recommendations of the ND Commission on Gender
Fairness in the Courts as set forth in the document “ A
Difference in Perceptions: The Final Report of the North
Dakota Commission on Gender Fairness in the Courts.”
In particular, pursue legislative changes which would
clarify “imminent threat of harm” and include “emotional or
mental harm” as part of the definition of domestic violence;
strengthen the statute governing mediation in relation to an
exemption for domestic violence. In addition, seek
codified standards for custody investigators’ reports as
they relate to domestic violence.

7. Continue
collaboration among the Information and Technology Division
