statewide to screen for victims of violence by
establishing more SART (Sexual Assault Response Teams) and
providers trained in domestic violence in hospitals.

2. Research
and provide educational sessions and trainings for
healthcare providers on domestic and sexual violence
issues by collaborating with local crisis intervention
programs, CAWS/CASAND, ND Nurses’ Association, and other
public health entities.
Mechanism for Implementation:
Training opportunities based on Train-the Trainer models,
WEAV nursing class curriculum infusion and distribution,
Rural and Public Health Conference.

3. Encourage hospitals and clinics statewide to adopt
SANE (Sexual Assault Nurse Examiners) programs.

Provide training opportunities for SANE nurses and create
state SANE Trainer

Increase and encourage collaboration
among public health entities, crisis intervention centers,
