7th – 12th Grade

   

Action Steps:

1. Using curricula researched and approved by local school districts, in conjunction with local domestic and sexual violence programs, implement a comprehensive violence prevention and education program for students and faculty.

Mechanism for Implementation: Student Violence Prevention Project

Agency Responsible: CAWS/CASAND, DPI, local schools and crisis intervention centers

2. Assist teachers and advisors in providing violence prevention materials through youth groups, such as student council, Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD), ND High School Athletics Association (HSAA), Future Consumer and Career Leaders in America (FCCLA) to provide leadership and promote violence free groups to students.

Mechanism for Implementation: SADD, FCCLA, HSAA, and Student Council, Church Youth Groups

Agency Responsible: CAWS/CASAND, local schools and Domestic Violence Programs, SADD, FCCLA, ND Student Council

3. Partner with coaching staff to promote violence free sporting events and teams by providing educational and awareness activities on domestic and sexual violence.

Mechanism for Implementation: In-service and cross training opportunities at such places as HSAA Conference and sporting events.

Agency Responsible: Local schools and domestic violence programs, HSAA, ND Coaching Association, and Association of Christian Athletes

4. Promote activities on violence prevention in after-school programs and facilitate students’ providing leadership to other groups/students.

Mechanism for Implementation: After-school programs

Agency Responsible: Schools, local Domestic Violence Programs, DPI, CAWS/CASAND
