1. |
Law
enforcement will partner with advocates in local communities
to facilitate immediate and follow-up advocacy for victims
of domestic violence and sexual assault who access the
criminal justice system to ensure that they are receiving
the services that they need.
Mechanism for Implementation: Formalized community
task force and response teams statewide. These task forces
will enhance and provide training in uniform protocol, cross
training for advocates and law enforcement to facilitate
communication and collaboration in cases involving intimate
partner violence.

2. |
Law
enforcement agencies will continue to partner with the
Sexual Assault Evidence Collection Protocol Ad Hoc Committee
to provide education, resources, and training opportunities
to law enforcement agencies statewide on recommended sexual
assault evidence collection protocol.
Mechanism for Implementation: The state’s training
law enforcement agencies will enhance, promote, and provide
cross training on uniform and statewide protocol for
evidence collection to current and new law enforcement
officers
Agency Responsible: State Crime Lab, CAWS/CASAND, Law
Enforcement Training Agencies, and Law Enforcement Agencies
statewide |

3. |
Law
enforcement agencies will sustain and enhance knowledge and
enforcement of full faith and credit efforts according to
the ND Statute among law enforcement agencies statewide, as
well as other criminal justice system professionals.
Mechanism for Implementation: Training sessions and
the distribution of educational materials regarding full
faith and credit to current and new law enforcement officers
statewide.

Law
enforcement training agencies will maintain and enhance
training curricula on domestic violence in conjunction with
POST Board and domestic violence agencies.
